Baotou Railway Station served a total of 161,000 passengers from Feb 15 to 21.
The station has launched pet consignment services, allowing passengers to check in their pets on trains marked with the "Pet" icon when booking tickets via the 12306 platform. It has also cooperated with hospitals to station doctors on-site, improving its ability to respond to emergencies.
In response to the recent strong winds and dust, the station has optimized ticket-checking procedures to reduce waiting time for passengers on the platform. Meanwhile, cleaning frequency has been increased, and frequent weather and train information updates are provided via broadcasts and electronic screens.
Due to the relatively late Spring Festival this year, pre-holiday passenger flows were relatively scattered. After the holiday, however, migrant workers, students, and family-visit flows have overlapped, resulting in greater transport capacity pressure during the return trip than before the festival.
With the opening of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway, travel from Hohhot and Baotou to Yinchuan and Lanzhou, as well as from Bayannur and Wuhai to Beijing, has become more common.
During the Spring Rush, the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway arranged 32 pairs of daily D-series high-speed trains and six pairs of peak-period D-series high-speed trains, covering major stations in the western Inner Mongolia autonomous region to popular destinations, including Qinghe, Taiyuannan, and Xi'anbei.
