This awe-inspiring lineup of heavily armored cavalry (cataphract) figurines, lightly armored cavalry figurines, and yellow-brown glazed pottery horses was unearthed from the tomb of Yifu Mogui, a prominent noble of the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534). Together, they form a vast underground army. Each figurine is finely crafted and strikingly lifelike, offering a rare glimpse into elite life and military might over a millennium ago. Collection: Northern Dynasties Museum, a branch of the Datong Museum.
