The "solar-storage-charging-swapping integrated project – NIO battery swap station" built by LONGi Green Energy Technology Co, a photovoltaic leader based in Xi'an, and premium smart electric vehicle brand NIO, was completed on Feb 2 at LONGi's global distributed generation R&D center in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
The project integrates photovoltaic canopies, photovoltaic walls, and photovoltaic noise barriers at the station and parking lot, creating three-dimensional power generation coverage of "roof + facades". The generated green electricity, together with batteries at the station, constitutes a highly efficient and eco-friendly integrated energy system, which greatly eases the pressure on the power grid and better meets users' charging and swapping demands.
The integrated photovoltaic facilities ensure a green and stable power supply, bringing the site's carbon dioxide emissions close to zero and achieving a low-carbon transformation of the energy supply structure.
The photovoltaic noise barriers integrate high-efficiency photovoltaic modules with road noise reduction functions. They effectively mitigate traffic noise while continuously generating clean electricity, transforming public infrastructure from single-function to dual-function and providing new solutions for the green upgrading of urban roads and expressways.
Lyu Yuan, a representative of LONGi, said, "This project is a vivid embodiment of LONGi's 'Solar for All' philosophy. We deliver integrated solutions including photovoltaic carports, walls, and noise barriers, enabling green power to seamlessly integrate into transportation and built environments. Our collaboration with NIO has validated the great potential of photovoltaics as sustainable infrastructure. We will continue to drive the unlimited expansion of energy application scenarios through technological innovation."
Qu Yu, a representative of NIO, said, "Building a nationwide clean energy network is NIO's long-term strategy. We will continue to promote such demonstration projects, allowing more users to enjoy a zero-carbon travel experience and contributing to the transportation sector's transition to carbon neutrality."
