​Supervision site for imported aquatic products in Xi'an airport gets approved

The designated supervision site for imported fresh and chilled aquatic products at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport has been authorized by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.

With this approval, the airport now has six designated supervision sites for imported goods, placing it among the leading airports in China. These sites cover categories including imported fruits, plant seedlings, and pharmaceuticals. This milestone marks an important step forward for Airport New City of Xixian New Area in developing an open economy and injects strong momentum into regional industrial upgrading and economic growth.

Construction of the supervision site began in 2023. In the early stage of the project, the A02 customs supervision warehouse in the west cargo area of the airport was renovated. Through scientific planning and spatial optimization, the scattered designated supervision sites were consolidated, enabling a direct connection between the customs laboratory and the warehouse area. This breakthrough overcomes the limitations of the traditional model, integrates resources, and creates a highly efficient, collaborative operation model.

The designated supervision site for imported fresh and chilled aquatic products has now established complete functional areas, including key sections such as inspection zones, cold-chain food storage warehouses, and quarantine treatment areas. It is also equipped with advanced inspection equipment and information systems, with complete facilities, sound emergency plans, and management systems, meeting the inspection requirements.

Approval of this site will further enhance the airport's role, expand import channels for specialty products, and reduce circulation costs for imported goods. This, in turn, will help lower product prices, satisfy people's growing demand for high-quality consumption, and enable residents in Xi'an and surrounding areas to enjoy high-quality global fresh and chilled aquatic products more conveniently.
