As Spring Festival approaches, Shanxi residents are eagerly participating in the bustling 2026 Global Premium Chinese New Year Goods Festival. Since its launch at the Coal Museum of China in Taiyuan at the end of January, the event has sparked a shopping frenzy among consumers.

The festival features 500 high-quality vendors across an expansive 8,000-square-meter exhibition space. The National Premium Goods Zone showcases time-honored Chinese brands and geographical indication products, while the Yunnan, Sichuan, and Xinjiang Pavilions highlight distinctive regional specialties. Additionally, the International Goods Zone offers a wide selection of global products for attendees to explore.

A highlight of the festival is the comprehensive home appliance section, featuring major brands such as Haier and Hisense. Consumers can benefit from both national subsidies and union vouchers. In the Northern Hall’s Agricultural Products Zone, visitors can also enjoy exclusive discounts through special vouchers.

Since its inception, the festival has attracted an average daily footfall of 22,000 visitors and generated approximately 1.5 million yuan ($217,029) in daily sales. It has also spurred a surge in tourism, dining, accommodation, logistics, and entertainment in the surrounding area.

By offering a wide array of products, premium services, and rigorous oversight, the festival has created a high-quality Chinese New Year shopping experience, invigorated the holiday market, and provided a platform for businesses to showcase their offerings and expand their reach.
