The world's tallest and largest wind power tower crane was unveiled in Changde, Central China's Hunan province, a move set to transform the installation of next-generation, high-capacity wind farms.
The new machine, model LW3600-240NB, was developed by Chinese construction machinery giant Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology, and was showcased at the company's factory in Changde. It features a maximum lifting height exceeding 241 meters and a maximum lifting capacity of 240 metric tons, which is equivalent to hoisting 200 small cars to the height of an 80-story building, according to the company.
The launch of the new model marks a significant breakthrough for the industry, positioning Zoomlion as a leader in providing complete tower crane hoisting solutions for wind turbines.
The new model is specifically designed to meet modern market demands for increasingly larger single-unit capacities, Zoomlion said. Considering that the available installation space is often limited, the crane requires a compact site of only 35 by 55 meters. It can also simultaneously cover various hoisting scenarios such as bridges, civil construction, nuclear power, thermal power, and chemical plants.
