The Xi'an bureau of cultural relics has organized more than 170 online and offline events for the 2026 Spring Festival holiday. Featuring themed exhibitions, interactive experiences, and public services, these events will offer museum visitors an immersive look at "Chinese New Year in Xi'an".
Institutions throughout the city have launched more than 30 themed exhibitions. Among them, the Xi'an Museum features an exhibition on zodiac culture, showcasing the artistic charm and auspicious meaning of horse-themed cultural relics, while the Shaanxi Tang Tricolor Pottery Art Museum presents an exhibition blending Tang Dynasty (618–907) craftsmanship with Tang poetry.
Over 80 educational and interactive activities have been established for families with children, teenagers, and cultural enthusiasts. Xi'an Banpo Museum's prehistoric cultural experiences will allow visitors to explore the wisdom of ancient ancestors, and Shaanxi Nature Museum's science fair will integrate 3D creation and AR interactive games to combine scientific knowledge with festive folk customs.
Xi'an Guanzhong Folk Art Museum will launch a folk custom Spring Festival event,featuring a wide variety of shows and experiences held daily from Feb 15 to 23, fully recreating the Guanzhong area's authentic traditional Spring Festival customs.
More than 20 institutions will extend their opening hours during the Spring Festival holiday to facilitate evening visits for citizens and tourists.
These events will enable citizens and tourists to experience the warmth and vitality of traditional culture through interactive participation and enjoy a joyful Spring Festival.
