Chongqing Chinese New Year Lantern Festival opened to the public at the Chongqing Garden Expo in Liangjiang New Area on Jan 31 and will run until March 22.
The lantern exhibition features a 2.8-kilometer lakeside path that connects six themed zones, showcasing nearly 2,000 lantern displays and over 6,000 lantern decorations, including 15 large-scale lantern installations, each with its own unique charm.
The garden's natural landscape of mountains and water enhances the festival's dynamic atmosphere, enabling visitors to immerse themselves in the enchanting scene of lanterns floating on water.
The festival also hosts a cultural market and folk performances where visitors can enjoy traditional crafts, authentic cuisine, and cyber electronic music.
Admission is free for seniors over 70 and children under 1.2 meters tall.
