Hangzhou's per capita disposable income reached 80,017 yuan ($11,534) in 2025, up 4.2 percent year-on-year, according to the latest survey by the Hangzhou investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics.

Per capita consumption expenditure rose to 55,592 yuan, a 4.9 percent increase, signaling steady gains in both income and spending.

Wage income remained the main driver, averaging 46,593 yuan and accounting for 58.2 percent of total income. Operating, property and transfer incomes all posted solid growth, reflecting increasingly diversified income sources.

The urban-rural gap continued to narrow. Rural residents' per capita disposable income climbed to 53,565 yuan, up 5.4 percent – outpacing urban residents' 3.9 percent growth. New rural business models such as tourism and livestreaming e-commerce have boosted incomes, highlighting progress in Hangzhou's digital rural development.

Consumption also showed resilience. Rural consumption grew faster (6.3 percent) than urban (4.6 percent), while transfer income recorded the fastest rise, supported by higher pensions and broader social security coverage.

Overall, the data underscore Hangzhou's economic resilience and its growing momentum toward common prosperity, with income growth increasingly shifting from scale to quality.
