Wong Fei-hung, born in Foshan, Guangdong and known worldwide as a legendary kung fu master, is more than a silver-screen hero. The new exhibition at the Wuhan Museum in Hubei province takes you deep into his real life story, tracing how he rose to fame and became a towering figure in Lingnan culture. As well as being a martial arts grandmaster, he was also a famous physician.
Classic kung fu films and literary works inspired by Wong Fei-hung are also featured, bringing a wave of nostalgia and reminding us why his story has captivated generations.
