Nantong strengthens global ties

Nantong in Jiangsu province hosted a symposium in Shanghai on Jan 28, bringing together foreign business associations and renowned consulting firms.
The event drew participation of over 30 representatives, including those from the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, and Cushman & Wakefield.
Nantong Mayor Zhang Tong expressed heartfelt gratitude to the supporters of the city's development. She highlighted Nantong's growing strength and its commitment to providing ample space and opportunities for enterprises to flourish.
Mayor Zhang emphasized the city's commitment to enhancing institutional openness and fostering a transparent, stable, and predictable business environment. Nantong aspires to become the premier destination for foreign investment in the Yangtze River Delta.
Zhang Guohua, a first-level inspector from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, affirmed Shanghai's ongoing support for Nantong in strengthening ties with foreign business associations and consulting firms. Together, they aim to establish a new hub for two-way openness in the YRD, driving coordinated regional development.
Representatives from the Shanghai Pudong Foreign Investment Association, the Cohen Group, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations expressed optimism about Nantong's development prospects. They committed to serving as bridges, connecting Nantong with global resources.
Steven Basart, general manager of the Shanghai Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, said that Nantong's initiatives align well with the needs of European businesses. The chamber plans to facilitate more China-Europe cooperation projects in Nantong. Sun Jie, managing director of Industrial Real Estate at CBRE China, reflected on the success of numerous foreign investment projects in Nantong over the past two decades, recognizing the city as a top choice for foreign investment in the YRD.
