NETDA: 2021-2025 achievements and 2030 vision‌

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) saw comprehensive improvements in overall strength, the real economy, and urban quality. 

Over the past five years, NETDA has attracted 254 industrial projects, with total investments exceeding 275.5 billion yuan ($39.64 billion).

The zone now boasts five companies, each with annual revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan. Additionally, 36 national-level specialized and sophisticated "little giant" enterprises focused on cutting-edge sectors. 

Significant progress was also made through innovation-driven initiatives, with the proportion of social R&D investment and the number of effective patents per 10,000 people both ranking first in Nantong. Companies like Zhongtian Technologies Submarine Cable have won the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and future industry pilot projects are flourishing in the region. 

The ecological environment continues to improve, with air quality consistently ranking as the best in the city, the green coverage rate reaching 36 percent, and the area's three national-level ecological pilot projects having been approved.   

By 2030, which marks the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan, NETDA aims to increase its share of foreign trade imports and exports to one-quarter, cultivate more than 10 enterprises with annual revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan, and establish a pioneering demonstration zone for the development of new quality productive forces, contributing more to the modernization practices in Nantong with Chinese characteristics.
