The offshore wind farms in Nantong, Jiangsu province, produced a combined 17.19 billion kilowatt hours of electricity last year, enough to meet the annual needs of about 7.2 million households.
This achievement establishes a robust foundation for Nantong's green development and energy structure transformation during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030).
As a pivotal area for offshore wind power development in China, Nantong has capitalized on its abundant offshore wind resources to construct several large-scale wind farms.
This has resulted in a stable and efficient clean energy supply system, highlighting the city's immense potential for green development within its marine economy.
Looking forward to the next five years, Nantong aims to continue exploiting its coastal location and resource advantages to further expand offshore wind power and optimize its energy distribution.
