The total goods import and export value for enterprises in Sanya hit a record 33.26 billion yuan ($4.8 billion) in 2025, marking a year-on-year growth of 7.8 percent and outpacing the province's average for the period.
Statistics show that in 2025, the import value of Sanya's major products — including ore sand, basic organic chemicals, coal, beauty and cosmetic products, as well personal care items — all exhibited a growth trend.
Of these, imports of metal ores and ore sands soared to 4.55 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 150.7 percent; beauty and cosmetic products and personal care items totaled 2.88 billion yuan, up 0.9 percent; and basic organic chemicals were worth 1.54 billion yuan, a gain of 16.5 percent.
As the benefits of the new special customs operations in the Hainan Free Trade Port continue to flow, core policies such as zero tariffs and duty-free treatment for value-added processing are believed to have become the “golden key” for businesses to cut costs and boost efficiency.
According to reports, to ensure that enterprises can benefit from the policy advantages as much and as soon as possible, Sanya Customs is taking concerted action by providing one-to-one assistance to key businesses — injecting strong momentum into foreign trade growth.
Moving forwards, the Sanya Customs will continue to deepen the reform of regulatory services, meet the development needs of enterprises with precision and guide them to fully utilize the various policies — which will accelerate the release of the core policy benefits of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
Moreover, the efforts will provide stronger customs support for Sanya's high-level opening-up and high-quality development.
