The Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) has unveiled its ambitious vision to establish a globally influential "World Optical Valley" by 2035, aiming to position itself among the world's top high-tech industrial zones.

In pursuit of this grand vision, OVC plans to focus on cutting-edge fields such as compound semiconductors and aerospace information in 2026, striving to deliver 10 significant achievements and accelerate the development of the world-class East Lake Science City.

The zone will also launch the "Qingzhouxing Global Talent Recruitment Initiative" and enhance the "Optical Valley 3551 Talent Program" to build a global hub for scientific and technological innovation talent.

This year, to boost future industries, the zone will accelerate the implementation of the "AI+" initiative, targeting breakthroughs in advanced fields like brain-computer interfaces and quantum technology, while expanding industries such as 6G communications and biomanufacturing.

Additionally, through the "Global Partners Initiative", OVC will adopt a "co-planning, co-building, co-investing" model to attract key enterprises, R&D headquarters, and core supporting facilities, creating an open, collaborative, and win-win industrial ecosystem.

OVC is also committed to building itself into a modern educational, smart healthcare, and innovative cultural district. It plans to introduce renowned schools from Beijing and Shanghai, establish the "Optical Valley Youth Academy of Sciences", and explore new models for cultivating top-notch innovative talent. The zone will also open three top-tier hospitals and two health service centers, adding 2,000 new beds this year.

To create a more international environment, OVC will establish international communities, schools, and hospitals, deepen the implementation of the "Home in OVC" initiative for expatriates, and ensure global talent can live and work comfortably in the zone.
