This field recording piece explores memories of sounds. Xie Shihan, Yan Yuhao and Liao Jiajun travelled upstream along the Han River, tracing its course from the hustle and bustle of rickshaws and Yingge dance in the Ancient City at its mouth to the peaceful blend of cicada songs and rustling winds where the river begins. They listened to this river, passed daily yet never truly heard. En route, they encountered the elderly on the riverbank. Through their dialect, laughter and recollections, they sketched the fading and enduring traces of ferry crossings, street vendors' cries and bygone river vistas. Weaving narratives through audio recording they create a generational 'soundscape map', enabling overlooked everyday sounds to resonate anew in our memories and in the current landscape.
