Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport reached a significant milestone in 2025, accommodating a record 20.32 million passengers and 173,000 metric tons of cargo. The airport also operated 144,000 flights, showcasing the expansion and optimization of its flight network.
This year, the airport added over 20 domestic and international destinations to improve connectivity. With flights to 84 cities and 36 airlines serving routes across China, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia, the airport has become a key transportation hub.
Domestically, the airport increased flight frequencies to cities such as Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Shenzhen, providing over 10 daily flights to each. Additionally, seasonal routes to popular tourist destinations have improved travel convenience. Internationally, Jinan continues to offer connections to Sydney and Seoul, and has launched new routes to Vientiane, Laos.
A driving force behind this growth is the integration of aviation with local tourism. Passengers can use boarding passes for discounts at Jinan's major attractions, including Baotu Spring, Mingshui Ancient Town, and Lingyan Temple. Collaboration between the airport, tourism authorities, and travel agencies in Shandong province has boosted tourism in Jinan, Jining, and Tai'an.
Infrastructure and service upgrades have enhanced the passenger experience. The second phase of Jinan Metro Line 3 has reduced the travel time from Jinandong Railway Station to the airport to just 21 minutes. The airport also introduced new benefits for first-time travelers, seniors, and students, including meal subsidies and streamlined check-ins.
