Qujiang New Area upgrades to give consumers what they want

Qujiang New Area business district saw its sales volume reach 135 million yuan ($19.32 million) during the New Year holiday from Jan 1 to 3, up 34 percent from the previous year. Foot traffic exceeded 1.83 million, marking an increase of 38.7 percent.

These core indicators both achieved significant growth, confirming the vitality and development potential of the regional consumer market.

Xi'an Joy City gathered several top streaming images, including China's first Farmer Bob's Shining Wonder, a pop-up shop tied to Pokémon's flagship store, and a pop-up shop for the movieZootopia 2, providing rich choices for fans of designer toys.

The first-store economy and the expansion of new stores also made strides. Xi'an's first M Stand Market landed in Xi'an Joy City with many trendy new stores such as True Shan Hotpot and Grid Coffee.

Qujiang Creative Circle also welcomed the opening of several new outlets, including Bolon, Aya, and OCE, meeting consumer demand for fresh experiences with a constantly renewed brand matrix.

Xi'an Mixc presented a New Year concert together with Shanghai's Rainbow Chamber Singers. The pop mart-themed exhibition and the first Lighting Xi'an Festival,dubbed the "Geometry of Light", have also allowed citizens and tourists to enjoy a variety of artistic experiences while they shop and dine.

Furong Mall, which opened in 2016, has since upgraded and rebranded as NE99 Digital Entertainment Planet. Integrating over 10 themed spaces and more than 130 digital entertainment projects, it allowed customers to embark on immersive virtual adventures.

Qujiang New Area will continue to upgrade these commercial complexes and encourage them to adopt more immersive and diversified consumption scenarios in 2026. The goal is to promote the close integration of culture, tourism, and commerce, giving regional economic development a shot in the arm.
