As the New Year holiday concludes, Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, has reported a significant surge in tourism, marked by high visitor traffic and vibrant festivities.

Preliminary statistics reveal that the city's 30 key scenic spots welcomed 1.43 million visitors, generating 45.77 million yuan ($6.5 million) in total revenue. Among the most popular destinations, the World's Best Spring Scenic Area drew over 467,600 visitors, while the Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area saw a massive 84,300 arrivals. Emerging landmarks also performed well; the nation's first Yellow River-themed tourist block and the Queshan Mountain ecological zone attracted 109,000 and 83,300 visitors, respectively. Additionally, the city recorded 435,000 certified overnight stays, with 20 monitored venues generating 12.08 million yuan in revenue.

The holiday atmosphere was bolstered by a diverse array of cultural events. Destinations like Jinan Sunac Resort and Mingshui Ancient Town hosted drone shows and firework displays to ring in the new year. Coinciding with the holiday, Jinan launched its winter consumption season on Dec 31, featuring snow-themed amusement parks and traditional stove-side tea brewing at Jiuru Mountain. Meanwhile, cultural venues offered high-end programming, including a Qi Baishi exhibition at the Shandong Art Museum and traditional opera performances at the Beiyang Theater.
