The Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has just unveiled its highly anticipated exhibition Golden Light Shines Miles Away: Bronze Civilization in Southwest China. Bringing together precious bronze artifacts from Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi, the exhibition takes us back 3,000 years to ancient Southwest China. Back then, different communities cast bronze ware not just as objects of beauty, but as powerful tools to communicate with heaven and earth, worship nature, and maintain tribal order and collective identity.
