Originating as early as the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Chaozhou wood carving is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and layered designs. Made primarily from camphor wood, it adorns architecture, furniture and ritual objects. In 2006, it was recognized as China’s national intangible cultural heritage.
