A first for the Palace Museum: Launching the Digital Collection Library
In 2019, the Palace Museum launched its Digital Collection Library, opening a new chapter in its digitization efforts. Besides presenting the basic information of its 1.86 million-item collection (now updated to 1.95 million items), the library also released high-definition images of 50,000 selected artifacts, completely free of charge. From ancient paintings to exquisite jade, these digital treasures make visitors experience the beauty of Chinese heritage anytime and anywhere.
