A first for the Palace Museum: Holding livestreams to greet visitors online
During the Qingming Festival in 2020, when the museum was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Palace Museum launched a series of three livestreams titled "The Quiet Forbidden City: The Beauty of Spring". In collaboration with major online media platforms such as People’s Daily App, Douyin, and Tencent News, the programs invited audiences to virtually wander through the serene palace grounds – witnessing the tranquil courtyards, blooming flowers, and golden roofs glistening under the spring sun.
