Yixing zisha (purple clay) pottery, originating in the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and flourishing through the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), has played a key role in Chinese tea culture and ceramic artistry.

Now, a special exhibition at the Huai'an Museum in Jiangsu province will present this legacy with works by seven pivotal mid-20th-century zisha artists, including Ren Ganting (1888-1969), Pei Shimin (1892-1976), and others. Come and retrace the long evolution of zisha art and explore the delicate, enduring beauty of Jiangnan's ceramic craft.
