The International Exchange and Cooperation Matchmaking Event on the Blue Ocean Economy was held on Dec 2 in Fuzhou, Fujian province, bringing together representatives from Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and related enterprises as part of Fujian's efforts to advance high-quality development of the marine economy.
As one of the 100 Project Matchmaking Events initiated by the Fujian Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries, the event led to a series of important agreements.
The Department of Ocean and Fisheries and Fujian Normal University have formalized a strategic cooperation framework focused on marine economy development. The Fujian Haixia Research Institute of Architectural Design and Planning has also signed strategic agreements with several financial institutions, technology companies, and construction units.
Yan Zhihuang, director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries, said the province will continue to strengthen resource integration and boost financial support while building a stronger innovation ecosystem and creating platforms for international exchange in the ocean and fisheries sectors.
Zhang Wei, a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, noted that the 50th anniversary of the Fujian Fishery Engineering Construction and Design Institute reflects the province's progress in developing new quality productive forces.
