Xiamen Airlines strengthens role in sustainable transportation

The 2025 United Nations Global Compact China Office Annual Meeting and 25-Year Anniversary Celebration of UNGC were held in Beijing. Zhao Dong, chairman of Xiamen Airlines and a UNGC Board Member, delivered a keynote speech at the event.

Zhao highlighted that over the past 25 years, the UNGC has upheld the vision of business for good, uniting global enterprises to practice responsible business and building the world's most influential corporate sustainability platform.

The event also featured the launch of six UNGC expert working groups for the Belt and Road Initiative, focusing on key areas such as sustainable transportation, compliance, finance, and branding.

Xiamen Airlines, as an inaugural member, joined the sustainable transportation working group and will leverage its aviation expertise to contribute to standards development, talent cultivation, certification, and cross-border projects.

Since joining the UNGC in 2022, Xiamen Airlines has continuously integrated the UNGC's Ten Principles and ESG concepts into its operations. Zhao Dong was elected as a UNGC board member and has since been sharing Xiamen Airlines' experiences in green operations, social responsibility, and governance at the UN General Assembly Week, UNGC Board Meetings, and high-level political events.

Xiamen Airlines has actively participated in UNGC initiatives, including the "GDI for SDG" marine plastic reduction project and "ESG+20 Sustainability Leaders", demonstrating its commitment to the UNGC mission and contributing to global sustainable development.
