Seres and Tsinghua University have established the Tsinghua University-Seres Automotive Battery Innovation Technology Joint Research Center in Beijing.
Professor Ouyang Minggao, the center's director and a faculty member at Tsinghua University's School of Vehicle and Mobility, emphasized the center's goal to develop an innovative framework that seamlessly integrates theory, technology, and products.
This approach is designed to connect fundamental research with high-end product development, reinforcing China's leadership in global new energy technologies.
Zhang Xinghai, founder of Seres Group, envisions the center as a "stronghold" for breakthroughs in battery and safety technology, a "hub" for converting innovative ideas into practical applications, and a "base" for nurturing high-level talent.
A key focus of Seres' R&D efforts is power battery technology. The company has implemented a comprehensive five-layer battery defense system, developed through more than 150 rigorous analyses and tests.
The system features five protective design layers, advanced battery safety measures, battery thermal separation technology, and collision high-voltage instant cut-off technology.
