The 2025 Minnan Traditional Opera Week kicked off in Zhangzhou, Fujian province, on Nov 27! Classic performances, cultural exchanges, campus opera programs, immersive old-town shows, puppet theatre and Tulou heritage showcases all come together to bring Minnan culture vividly to life. “Minnan” refers to the southern Fujian region — mainly Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and Quanzhou — known for its distinctive Minnan dialect, seafaring heritage and vibrant folk traditions.
