Rime-covered forest with autumn colors draws visitors to Hunan mountain

Recent temperature drops around Ziyun Mountain in the Shunhuang Mountain National Nature Reserve of Xinning, Hunan province, have created the ideal conditions for rime formations to adorn the forest canopy.

The Shunhuang Mountain area is celebrated for its remarkable biodiversity and pristine subtropical forest ecosystem. As part of the Nanling Mountain Range, the area hosts a crucial water-conservation forest for the Yangtze River basin.
