​Xi'an enterprise accelerates eVTOL development

Vector Innovation (Xi'an) Aerospace Technology Co (Vision Aero) recently announced the completion of an angel round of financing totaling nearly 100 million yuan ($14.09 million).

Vision Aero was established in June 2023 and focuses on the research and development of heavy-duty air travel products. Its flagship product, Vector 5, is the world's first 7-seater, 3-ton composite-wing electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL), with a maximum takeoff weight of 3,180 kilograms and a range of 300 kilometers, designed for emergency rescue and other applications.

The financing funds will be used to prepare Vector 5's full-size prototype for test flight, promote airworthiness certification, and construct a new production line in the Yangtze River Delta region, while also validating hybrid technology.

He Wei, the company's founder, is an airline transport captain with over 4,000 flight hours. He also operated two business jet companies in the United States and the largest aviation school in Texas. His profound background in aviation operations and international perspective has infused this startup with unique DNA.

Obtaining nearly 100 million yuan in funding support in the current capital market environment underscores strong recognition of the company and the low-altitude economy.
