The Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Qingdao FTZ, achieved strong results at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), securing $363 million in potential procurements, a record high for the zone.
Held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, this CIIE edition attracted 155 countries, regions, and international organizations, with 4,108 overseas exhibitors and an exhibition area exceeding 430,000 square meters. Qingdao FTZ sent a delegation of 120 purchasing enterprises and 335 professionals. Their procurement spanned food, beverages, health products, and cosmetics, reflecting a diversified structure and deeper international cooperation.
Ebara Environmental Engineering showcased waste treatment technologies, while Qingdao SGEFinder Trading, a six-time participant, displayed premium products alongside partner brands. Qingdao Buyilehu Supply Chain, partnering with Canadian brand D-sorb, introduced innovative health products.
The CIIE has become a key platform for Qingdao FTZ to promote openness and industrial upgrading. The zone continues to leverage the expo's impact, encouraging enterprises to strengthen international ties, expand import channels, and optimize trade structures.
