UAV industry development highlighted at Xi'an conference

The parallel session on the Qinchuangyuan Industrial Innovation Cluster (Drone Industry) at the 2025 Qinchuangyuan Development Key & Core Technology Conference was held on Tuesday in Xi'an, Shaanxi, Northwest China.

The conference aims to promote the high-quality development of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry in Shaanxi, capitalize on opportunities in low-altitude economic development, and accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces.

Academician Li Yinghong from the Air Force Engineering University and deputy general manager Li Jingyao from Xi’an ASN UAV Technology Co Ltd delivered presentations on the safe and sustainable development of the low-altitude economy, equipment technology innovation, industry ecosystem construction and the high-quality advancement of the UAV sector.The Shaanxi Science and Technology Department unveiled a list of innovative resources for the UAV industry in the province.

During the meeting, 10 cooperation agreements were signed, including a project for a new engine designed for high-speed, wide-range drones. Six project teams, focusing on areas such as liquid hydrogen-powered drones, intelligent unmanned systems, and low-altitude operational platforms, conducted roadshows, effectively facilitating industry cooperation and technology transfer.

In the conference's exhibition area, 46 core exhibits from 24 enterprises were showcased, representing the entire UAV industry chain from upstream to downstream and highlighting the latest practices of industrial clusters in the region.

In recent years, Xixian New Area has built upon its robust drone industry ecosystem by leveraging the resources of Qinchuangyuan and local universities in science, education, and industry. By capitalizing on the growth of the low-altitude economy, the area has rapidly developed its UAV sector, with innovation driving momentum and the industry ecosystem taking shape.
