Zhoushan companies join CIIE with record participation

The 8th China International Import Expo will take place in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, with Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province registering 1,076 participants, up 235 from last year, an increase of 28 percent — the highest number to date.

As one of the world's major trade fairs, the CIIE sees procurement and matchmaking as a key focus. Zhoushan companies will join the Parallel Session on AI-Driven Digital Economy Innovation & The Global Digital Economy and High-Tech Industry Matchmaking Conference of the 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum, where they will engage with leading international importers and explore potential trade projects.

To build on the expo's spillover effect, the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone Bulk Agricultural Products Industry Development Matchmaking Conference will also be hosted in Shanghai, aiming to develop a bulk agricultural product ecosystem that utilizes Zhoushan's grain and high-quality protein industries. More than 30 enterprises will attend, including Zhejiang Cereals, Oils & Foodstuffs Import & Export, as well as industry experts and scholars.

Zhoushan will also promote its cultural exports, with Zhejiang Cenjia Wooden Boat Culture Development presenting traditional wooden boat craftsmanship at a cultural exchange program through live demonstrations and interactive experiences, highlighting Zhoushan's craftsmanship and artistic creativity.
