The Tongjiangnan First Road pipeline network project in the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Qingdao FTZ, has been fully completed. This key infrastructure initiative will significantly enhance the zone's operational efficiency and provide essential support for major projects like Zhongqing Cold Chain, COSCO Shipping Corporation, and Qingdao Port.
The 1,145-meter project integrates road construction, water supply and drainage pipelines, street lighting, traffic safety facilities, and electrical engineering. Located in the tidal flat of the Qianwan port area, the project faced challenges such as a high groundwater level and deep excavation up to 6.02 meters. The team overcame technical difficulties through continuous dewatering and complex support systems.
To ensure minimal disruption to local businesses, utility relocation for water and electricity was carried out without service interruptions. The project followed a "build first, remove later" procedure, ensuring new pipelines were stable before decommissioning old ones. This approach achieved a seamless transition and maintained efficient progress.
The project's completion reflects Qingdao FTZ's commitment to advancing infrastructure and its business environment, providing a foundation for enhancing regional development capacity and competitiveness.
