Hong Kong film legend Wong Jing visits Huangshan

From Nov 3 to 4, renowned Hong Kong director Wong Jing visited Huangshan with his production team to scout filming locations for his upcoming movie. His visit once again highlighted Huangshan's rich potential as a hub for cinema.

As a leading figure of Hong Kong's golden film era, Wong is celebrated for classics such as God of Gamblers, Hail the Judge, and From Vegas to Macau, known for his signature blend of comedy, martial arts, and historical storytelling.

Wong explored Shexian, Yixian, and Xiuning counties, seeking creative inspiration amid Huangshan's cultural allure and natural beauty.

The ancient villages of Xidi and Nanping in Yixian impressed him with their authentic historical charm and intricate architecture — ideal for his film's visual style.

At the Xiuning No 1 Scholars Museum, Wong's team delved into the legacy of China's imperial examination system. Wong noted that it offers powerful material for screen adaptations.
