The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is taking place in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, with Qingdao sending a strong delegation to seize global opportunities. The Qingdao delegation comprises 1,429 registered entities and 3,700 professional visitors, an 8.4 percent year-on-year increase, alongside five academic observation groups.
As a vital platform for global procurement and cooperation, the CIIE has previously facilitated deals for Qingdao companies. At the last session, 148 local buyers signed 246 procurement intentions with 193 exhibitors from 45 countries.
This year, Qingdao prepared early. A pre-CIIE matchmaking event in August connected over 150 local buyers with 30 exhibitors, resulting in six key enterprises signing memorandums of cooperation. Over 100 Qingdao purchasers are expected to reach intentions with more than 200 exhibitors.
Leveraging its high-level open platforms, the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area will host a SCO Cloud Products booth, helping businesses from SCO countries access the Chinese market. Meanwhile, the Sino-German Ecopark, part of the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Qingdao FTZ, will display premium German brands like Tetesept, which is making its China debut at the expo.
During the CIIE, Qingdao will promote its industrial ecosystem at the 2025 Shandong-Multinationals Industrial Ecosystem Partnership Dialogue and sign several high-quality investment and trade projects.
