North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region launched its tax refund policy for overseas travelers on Nov 1, marking a new step in enhancing inbound consumption.

Dedicated tax refund counters have been set up at Hohhot Baita International Airport, Manzhouli Xijiao International Airport, Manzhouli Road Port, Ereenhot Saiwusu International Airport, and Ereenhot Road Port.

These tax refund policies allow overseas visitors to claim refunds on added-value tax for eligible goods purchased at designated tax refund stores when leaving China through approved ports.

Inner Mongolia has promoted the implementation of the policy this year, with the Bank of China's Inner Mongolia Branch serving as the authorized refund agency. Seven tax refund stores have also been registered, including Hohhot Wangfujing Outlets, Zhenhua Shopping Plaza, Manzhouli Friendship Trading Co, and Ereenhot Hengyuan Mall.

The rollout of the tax refund program reflects Inner Mongolia's efforts to implement national policies that expand domestic demand and boost consumption. As the policy takes effect, it is expected to attract more overseas tourists, stimulate inbound travel spending, and inject new momentum into the region's urban economic growth.
