A first for the Palace Museum: Holding a "warehouse-style exhibition" of its furniture collection
In September 2018, the Palace Museum debuted its Furniture Gallery in the South Storehouses of the Forbidden City. This inaugural warehouse-style exhibition featured more than 300 pieces of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) furniture pieces displayed in their original storage arrangement, alongside over 30 exquisite masterpieces presented in themed room settings, offering visitors an intimate look at the aesthetics of imperial interior décor.
