Yantai's Sun Tower earns top global honor in architecture

The Sun Tower in Yantai Huang-Bohai Sea New Area in East China's Shandong province has gained international recognition from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, receiving the 2025 Award of Excellence for "Best Tall Building under 100 Meters".
The award highlights the tower's innovative design and its contribution to the public realm. Since its opening in September 2024, the tower has become a significant cultural landmark, utilizing ancient calendric principles to create unique light phenomena during solstices. It has already attracted over one million visitors.
