Shandong Mechatek Technology Co Ltd has become a leader in China's integrated circuit industry by achieving mass production of fully automated ultrasonic defect scanning equipment for power chips.

Based in the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Qingdao FTZ, Mechatek addresses the challenge of detecting hidden chip defects such as voids, cracks, and bubbles that are undetectable to the naked eye but can cause severe problems if the flawed chips are used.

Mechatek's self-developed ultrasonic defect scanning equipment acts like an "X-ray vision" for chips. By emitting ultrasonic waves that penetrate the chip and substrate, the device collects reflected echoes to map the internal layered material structure. Using AI technology, it generates an image distribution map.

The core innovation lies in using AI to extract defects from hundreds of thousands of pixels at an astonishing speed of tens of milliseconds – fast enough to complete five inspections in the time it takes a human to blink once (200 milliseconds). This significantly enhances detection efficiency and accuracy.

The Qingdao FTZ has played a crucial role by connecting Mechatek with resources such as banks, suppliers, and clients, while providing policy support. Through regular enterprise visits, entrepreneur salons, and expert guidance on financing, investment, tax policies, talent recruitment, and incentives, the zone has created a nurturing environment for businesses like Mechatek to grow and thrive.
