A Palace Museum First: Opening the Treasure Gallery

In 1958, the Palace Museum opened its first Treasure Gallery, with exhibits housed in the Hall of Spiritual Cultivation (Yangxing Dian), the Hall of Joyful Longevity (Leshou Tang), and the Bower of Well-nourished Harmony (Yihe Xuan).

Hundreds of exquisite pieces – from gold and silver ware to gemstones and fine silk embroideries – were brought together to unveil the imperial pursuit of beauty and craftsmanship.

Today, after several rounds of renovation, this permanent exhibition continues to captivate visitors, allowing them to admire up close the splendor once reserved for emperors and to feel the joy of discovering treasures beyond imagination.
