The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Ordos Committee hosted the China (Ordos)–Japan (Osaka) Industrial Matchmaking Conference on Oct 10 during Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan.
The event spotlighted complementary industries, including new energy and cashmere products. Eleven major enterprises from Ordos, including Ordos Yitai Investment Holding Group, held one-on-one discussions with over 30 Japanese companies and organizations. Japanese participants included the Japan-China Friendship Association of Nara Prefecture and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Kansai.

The conference featured in-depth discussions and lively exchanges. In the new energy sector, participants explored opportunities for cooperation in hydrogen technologies and renewable energy systems. In traditional industries, both parties exchanged ideas on technological innovation and market expansion.
The long-standing economic ties between Ordos and Japan provided a solid foundation for this cooperation. As early as the 1980s, the Erdos Cashmere Group partnered with Japan's Mitsui & Co, achieving great success in the cashmere industry and establishing the globally recognized "Ordos Warms the Whole World" brand.
Meanwhile, Japanese agronomist Masao Toyama and his team contributed to ecological restoration in Ordos' Kubuqi Desert, leaving a touching legacy of friendship between the two regions.
