The Guangdong Jiaoling Land Art Season made its official debut on Sept 27 at Baima Square in Changtan town, Jiaoling county, Meizhou, Guangdong province. As a key practice of Guangdong's "agriculture-culture-tourism integration" strategy, this event has attracted extensive attention for its innovative model of combining contemporary art with rural development.

The opening ceremony gathered 153 distinguished guests from across the country, covering government, culture, art, and academia.

Hosted by the Communist Party of China Jiaoling County Committee and the Jiaoling County People's Government, the event is undertaken by three cultural institutions including Yilang International, with academic support from the Urban and Rural Art Construction Research Institute of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and Server Art. This "government-led, enterprise-operated, academia-supported" model ensures the professionalism and sustainability of the art season.

Centered on the theme of "All Things in Their Natural State", the art season has launched 42 groups of artworks created by 27 artists, distributed in five core areas: the towns of Changtan, Sanzhen, Guangfu, and Lanfang, and Guangdong (Jiaoling) Rural Construction Museum. Notably, 85 percent of the works use local materials such as bamboo, stone and red brick, achieving a seamless integration with the rural environment.

As an important measure to implement Guangdong's "Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Project" and the "dual pilots" of agriculture-culture-tourism integration, the Guangdong Jiaoling Land Art Season is expected to drive a 30-percent increase in local cultural tourism revenue within three months, according to a forecast by the Meizhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports.
