As the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival approach, Hohhot's holiday market is thriving, with abundant supplies, diverse product selections, and brisk sales injecting new vitality into consumer spending.

At the Jiajiayue Supermarket, shelves are filled with festive goods. Festive mooncakes, gift boxes, and snacks are displayed prominently alongside daily necessities such as vegetables, fruits, meat, liquor, and grain and oil products, attracting a steady flow of shoppers.

A staff member noted that this year's overlapping festivals have driven demand for gift boxes priced around 100 yuan ($14) and for assorted mooncakes. While traditional flavors like coconut, five-nut, and red bean paste remain popular, new varieties such as beef jerky, cheese, chocolate, and custard-filled mooncakes are gaining traction, particularly from time-honored brands.

Consumers say prices are stable and affordable. Bulk mooncakes are rarely priced above 5 yuan per piece, while gift boxes typically range from 100 to 200 yuan with simple yet elegant packaging. To ensure supply, the supermarket has strengthened coordination with its central warehouse.

The festive spirit extends beyond supermarkets. At Baoquan Farmers' Market, sales of fruit gift boxes, premium grain, and local specialties have surged. Meanwhile, restaurants across the city report rising bookings for reunion banquets and holiday gatherings, with many large private rooms already fully reserved.

Industry insiders note that the extended "Golden Week" holiday is significantly boosting consumer demand across food, retail, and dining.
