Euro-Asia Economic Forum opens in Xi'an

The 2025 Euro-Asia Economic Forum opened in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, on Tuesday, bringing together officials and industry experts from 40 countries to co-build a new pattern for sustainable development.

The countries include Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Indonesia.

The three-day event includes 13 sub-forums on topics ranging from mining investment and logistics to youth dialogue and traditional Chinese medicine, as well as cultural exchanges and trade promotion. It will also launch a report about Eurasian economic observation under the joint effort to promote the Belt and Road Initiative.

This year's forum marks the 20th anniversary of its founding.

Organizers include the Shaanxi provincial government, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat, China Development Bank, and the Export-Import Bank of China.

Since its launch in 2005, the biennial forum has attracted participants from more than 70 countries and regions, advancing major projects in energy, finance, transport, and culture.
