Singaporean travel agents discover Jinan's cultural appeal

A delegation of 24 Singaporean travel operators arrived on Sept 15 in Jinan, capital of Shandong province to embark on an extended cultural inspection tour of the region.

Hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the China National Tourism Office in Singapore, the visit, starting in Jinan, aimed to promote the high-quality development of inbound tourism, strengthen international cultural tourism exchanges, and showcase diverse, premium cultural tourism offerings.

The group visited the city's key attractions including Baotu Spring, Qushuiting Street and Furong Street, where they experienced local traditions, heritage crafts and signature culinary dishes. Delegates expressed their appreciation of Jinan's unique spring culture and vibrant city atmosphere, noting its strong potential to appeal to Singaporean travelers.

During the visit, local officials highlighted Jinan's recent cultural tourism achievements and promoted themed products such as spring culture tours, intangible cultural heritage experiences and rural tourism. Several delegates showed interest in incorporating Jinan into future Southeast Asian travel itineraries.

Following their visit to Jinan, the delegation will continue their tour to other cities in Shandong, including Zibo, Weifang and Yantai, before returning to Jinan on Sept 21 to explore Mingshui Ancient Town.
