An international crowd of 1,500 riders overcame a test of speed and endurance for a bicycle challenge featuring a 1,000-meter elevation change on a cliffside road in Tianmen Mountain scenic area of Zhangjiajie, Hunan province, on Sunday.
The participants came from all around the world, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
The event included a men's road elite, a men's road general, a women's road, a women's mountain, and a men's mountain competition, with participants ranging from 18 to 65 years old. The 16-kilometer route gradually ascended from an elevation of 180 meters to 1,100 meters, with a maximum gradient of 14 degrees.
