Yantai Penglai International Airport recently launched a series of service initiatives aimed at providing passengers with a much higher-quality travel experience.
The measures are set to redefine convenience and efficiency for travelers at the airport, located in the Penglai district of Yantai city, in East China's Shandong province.
A key highlight is the launch of the Air-Rail Intermodal Service Center at Yantaixi Railway Station, which became operational on Sept 6.
This is equipped with efficient staff, self-service check-in kiosks and a comfortable passenger lounge, ensuring a smooth transition from rail to air travel.
On arrival at the station, passengers can easily check their flight status, complete check-in procedures and purchase direct bus tickets to the airport through the WeChat account "yantaijiaoyun".
Additionally, options such as ride-hailing services and taxis provide direct access to the airport, enabling a seamless train-to-plane connection.
From Sept 6, passengers on domestic flights will benefit from improved security checks and boarding times. Under new regulations at Yantai airport, travelers will enjoy an extra five minutes to check-in, without any change to the scheduled departure times.
For those traveling to Beijing and Shanghai on the Yantai-Beijing-Shanghai Express Line, Yantai airport has introduced a fast-track boarding service.
This includes dedicated check-in counters, security lanes and boarding bridges — allowing passengers to pass through quickly even during peak hours, significantly reducing waiting times.
