Sino-German philosophical dialogue opens at Guiyang Confucius Academy

The "Chinese Philosophy of the Mind and the World": A Dialogue between Chinese and German Philosophy opened at Guiyang Confucius Academy in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 23.

The event was overseen by the International Confucian Association and hosted by the Guiyang Confucius Academy Cultural Communication Center.

At the opening ceremony, participants reflected on the achievements of the "Chinese Philosophy of the Mind and the World" Academic Alliance over the past year, particularly in the areas of academic exchanges and application of research outcomes.

The event also saw the launch of the 2025 international philosophy of mind study series, alongside the opening and flag ceremony for the philosophy of mind study camp and keynote speeches.

First launched in 2011, the event has been held biennially in China and Germany since 2023. It brings together leading scholars from both countries to deepen mutual understanding of each other's philosophical traditions.

This year, 16 scholars from institutions such as Renmin University of China, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Munich University of Applied Sciences participated in four thought-provoking academic dialogues, offering global perspectives on intercultural understanding and the exchange of civilizations.
