Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, together with Zhejiang Loong Airlines, will increase the number of direct international routes between Xi'an and Dushanbe from Sept 16, and between Xi'an and Bangkok from Sept 21, further bolstering the airport's international flight network.
The two new routes will strengthen the driving role of Xi'an's international aviation hub and build a more efficient air bridge for economic and trade cooperation and cultural tourism exchanges between China, Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
The round-trip flights GJ8557 and GJ8558 of the Xi'an-Dushanbe route operate every Tuesday and Friday, while the round-trip flights GJ8907 and GJ8908 of the Xi'an-Bangkok route operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
The new routes will strengthen Xi'an's flight connectivity and offer high-frequency connections to key cities in Central Asia and Southeast Asia, making business travel, tourism, and cross-border cultural exchanges easier.
Dushanbe, as the capital and economic center of Tajikistan, is an important city within the Central Asian region. Bangkok is the capital of Thailand and one of the most vibrant tourism and business hubs in Southeast Asia.
As the largest international aviation hub in Northwest China, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport has the highest passenger and cargo throughput in the northwest region. Since the beginning of this year, multiple international routes have been opened or added to destinations like Istanbul and Tashkent.
